1. What is Direct to Film (DTF) printing?

DTF printing is a modern garment decoration method where designs are printed onto a special film and then transferred onto fabric using heat. It allows for vibrant colours, fine detail, and works on a variety of materials, including cotton, polyester, and blends. Perhaps more importantly than that, each DTF supplied is bespoke to your requirements.

2. Do I need special equipment to apply DTF transfers?

Yes, you’ll need a heat press to apply the transfers. Domestic irons are not suitable, as they don’t offer consistent pressure and temperature. A heat press ensures a durable and professional finish.

3. What types of fabric are suitable for DTF transfers?

DTF transfers work well on a wide range of textiles, including cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, and performance fabrics. They also adhere to both light and dark garments without the need for pre-treatment. The DTF transfer will also stretch with the movement of the material when worn.

4. How do I prepare my artwork for a DTF order?

We recommend submitting your artwork as a high-resolution PNG file with a transparent background. Ensure the design is to scale and that all fonts are outlined or embedded. For best results, use CMYK colour profiles.

5. Can I wash garments with DTF prints?

Yes, garments with DTF prints are washable. We recommend washing inside-out at 30°C and avoiding bleach or harsh detergents. Do not tumble dry, and avoid ironing directly on the print.

6. What’s the turnaround time for orders?

We offer a next working day delivery service for all UK deliveries provided you place an order with us before midday Monday to Friday.

7. Do you offer custom gang sheets?

Yes, we do. You can upload your own gang sheet or use our online gang sheet builder to create one. This is an ideal option for maximising print space and reducing cost.

8. Do you ship internationally?

We predominately ship to the UK but we can also ship internationally and overseas. 

9. Do you offer trade or wholesale pricing?

Yes, we support businesses of all sizes. Trade pricing is available for bulk orders – please get in touch for more information or to set up a trade account.
